Riyadh: Cadillac has outlined its commitment to the mobility aspirations of Saudi Arabia by confirming six luxury electric vehicles by 2025. The first in the line-up will be the exquisite Cadillac LYRIQ, which is the culmination of a century of innovation, followed by the newly revealed CELESTIQ, set to challenge the ultra-luxury space with defining design, technology and performance features.

The iconic nameplates are the first signal of a great new era for the automaker, who will transform into an all-electric brand by the close of the decade. Over the next several years, Cadillac will define the future of luxury carriage through a series of exciting new electric and autonomous vehicles, underscored by technological advancements designed to metamorphosize the role of transportation.

Waleed Aljomaih, Chief Operations Officer, Aljomaih Automotive Company said: “We are honored to have represented Cadillac in the Kingdom for 55 years and to have been able to deliver Cadillac’s first-class design, craftsmanship and innovations year after year. We have celebrated many milestones together and one thing that has remained constant is the unmistakable quality of Cadillac. We are excited to usher in this new chapter of EVs together and are certain that our loyal customers will be astounded by this all-electric line-up”.

This converges with the ambitions of the Kingdom under Vision 2030, which stipulates that 30% of transport in the city of Riyadh must be electric by 2030. Cadillac, alongside parent company General Motors (GM), will be working closely with the entire ecosystem of Saudi Arabia to ensure infrastructure readiness and customer adoption.

“There is no doubt that the future is electric; the only questions that remain is when, and how?”, said Rory Harvey, Vice-President of Global Cadillac. “Innovation is in Cadillac’s DNA, and we have no doubt that we have the legacy and expertise to make it a closer reality for the people of Saudi Arabia. Not only that, but we are also making it extraordinary. By promising a completely new ownership and driving experience, we will redefine what we want and need from our luxury vehicles”.

“Saudi Arabia and Cadillac have a long, illustrious history together and we are inspired to be able to continue this relationship into what will be a watershed moment for our industry and wider society”, said Kristian Aquilina, Managing Director Cadillac International Operations and Cadillac Middle East. “Our commitment to reimagining mobility in The Kingdom is what drives us to guarantee six magnificent electric vehicles to our customers over the next three years, each one bearing the Cadillac crest that signifies design and engineering innovation. Our fleet will not only meet the sophisticated desires of our customer base, but the goals of Saudi Arabia’s leadership to be an ambitious nation”.

As a true icon of luxury automotive for 120 years, the all-electric Cadillac future will continue to deliver the extraordinary. The backbone of Cadillac’s fleet is GM’s advanced Ultium platform, which provides performance and driving range exceeding many petrol-powered vehicles.

Cadillac LYRIQ will be available with premier technologies and stirring performance capabilities enabled by the vehicle’s dedicated electric architecture. A 12-module, 102 kilowatt-hour battery pack and an all-wheel-drive Ultium Platform deliver a Cadillac estimated 500 horsepower and 610 Nm of torque — and a range of approximately 500 km with a full charge¹. LYRIQ also offers high-speed DC fast charging enabling customers to add an estimated 125 km of range in about 10 minutes² of charging time and 265 km of range in about 30 minutes3 of charging time.

Aesthetically, LYRIQ is a sight to behold. The interior is clean and simple with a focus on secondary and tertiary design elements, including intricate laser etched patterns through wood over metal décor, which has never been done before. The large, curved LED screen is the centerpiece, alongside the distinctive black crystal grille, and all the components are incorporated artfully, blurring the lines of separation among technology, lighting and décor.

CELESTIQ will challenge the ultra-luxury space with defining design, technology and performance features, intended to reinvent travel as a curated experience and one that evokes an emotional response. Perfectly combining function and form, highlights include five high-definition, advanced LED interactive displays, including a 55-inch-diagonal advanced LED display, along with expected many industry firsts such as a variable-transmission Smart Glass Roof.

Cadillac’s entire fleet, starting with the CELESIQ, will also include Super Cruise™, the first true hands-free driving-assistance technology for compatible roads⁴ coming to our region in 2024. Super Cruise’s unique combination of precision LiDAR map data, high-precision GPS, a state-of-the-art Driver Attention System and a network of camera and radar sensors, make it a pivotal step towards the adoption of hands-free driving.

The bold plans to spearhead luxury mobility in the Kingdom were revealed at a pioneering showcase in the capital city, Reimagining Mobility: Cadillac in the Kingdom, in front of the country’s key government stakeholders, media partners and customers.
